It is interesting, to say the least, the electoral process in which the people of the United States of America are immersed heading to the elections that will be held ten months from now, in November 2012. This is a historic process that has been going on for many years in which there are significant partisan activities to determine who is going to be the candidate for each party. This year, since President Obama is running for reelection, the Republican Party is the one most actively involved in holding its primary elections. This does not mean that the other party – the Democratic – not be campaigning, although with less intensity since it already has a candidate, President Barack Obama who is very active raising funds for his campaign using all the influence that comes from the White House.
Voters should be very careful in terms of analyzing the arguments in favor or against a candidate that are used during this stage of the campaign, mostly in television ads. One thing is a sensible and civilized discrepancy and another is the systematic and manipulated attacks with verbal violence.
We are still many months away from November. However, already the campaign is red hot, so to speak. The Republican Party primaries in Florida will be held on January 31st to elect the candidates that will run in the general elections in November.
The logical thing in light of political reality is that in all the United States of America voters be self-examining their political conscience to vote for the candidate who in their opinion is the best qualified to be president of the republic.
The patriotic thing to do is avoid wasting time during this stage of the process because what must be done is to analyze the characteristics of each of the candidates going into the primaries, consulting with others to determine who is best qualified to defend the country’s ideals and win the election. Today, with the modern electronic resources, it is easy to review the personal record of each candidate in order to reach fair and adequate conclusions before casting a vote.
