The Very Real Threat
Posed by Iran
Every investigation that can be made regarding Iran’s capabilities should be done with a high sense of responsibility in order to cover every aspect of this very real threat for the free world. The head of Israel’s military intelligence, Maj. Gen. Aviv Kochavi, has informed on Thursday that Iran already has enough stockpiles of uranium to make four atomic bombs and that it could produce the first one within a year of deciding to build one. Even if this were not totally true, there are reasons to consider it as something extremely dangerous.
How aware of this threat is the government of the United States of America? It is not easy to answer this question. There is a renowned American journalist, Cal Thomas, who is constantly opining about this issue based on the reality of events that constitute, or should constitute, a reason for concern for the Western world. The opinions and commentaries of this journalist are published by DIARIO LAS AMERICAS to inform about a topic that not everyone is familiar with, that not everyone touches, but that is indispensable to know in order to be well informed.
It must be taken into account that the Iranian government is dangerously, to say the least, penetrating several countries of Latin America in an open conspiracy against the United States of America, with Cuba and Venezuela as its bases, for the time being, with ramifications in the countries members of ALBA, the alliance of countries that follow Hugo Chávez. Moreover, in September 2011, Italian newspapers informed about the establishment in Cuba of a base for subversive operation by the Shiite terrorist organization Hezbollah that at the time was said would have 23 members. Now, it is being reported that Hezbollah is working with the drug cartels complicating even more the scope of its activities in the region.
The topic of Iran is not one that can be discussed with superficial opinions because it demands sound knowledge and a will to continue studying it even when it is tried to disguise it in ways to make it forgettable. The U.S. government must stay alert in the defense of its national security that nowadays is more and more threatened by Iran.
