The Republican Convention,
an Excellent Example
of Political Culture
An excellent example for the world is the way in which, as usual, has just taken place the National Convention of the Republican Party held in Tampa, Florida, from Tuesday the 28th to Thursday, August 30th, 2012. All the fundamental details, and even the non fundamental, were covered satisfactorily with a sense of political responsibility and civic emotion.
On occasions such as this we often see the so-called clichés. However, after carefully analyzing this event one reaches the conclusion that as is usual in these cases, the American people once more bear witness of their sense of political duty.
All the speakers did their job in a satisfactory and also honoring way. The women speakers were particularly outstanding. The men spoke with doctrinal reasoning and with pragmatic sense in terms of reaching the public with sound arguments and without insulting anyone, dignifying the national life and, of course, the Republican Party.
At the time that this editorial is written we still have to hear the acceptance speech from presidential candidate Mitt Romney, who will be introduced by the young Senator from Florida, Marco Rubio. Candidate Romney’s wife spoke on Tuesday night, during the opening of the Convention, with well-chosen and convincing words about her husband’s character and about the values of political and family life.
Although the basic points that will be covered by Mitt Romney in his acceptance speech are known, there is always special interest because this speech will include last minute details as a result, in one way or another, of what happened during the convention.
The American people must feel very satisfied, although not all belong to the same party, by the civilized way that characterized this Republican Convention.
