The Historic
and Cultural Values
of a Country
In order to maintain national solidarity in a country, it is necessary that there be a reasonable and methodical fostering of the historic values of its society, be it in the political, the cultural, the juridical, the social, the religious, the economic and, in short, of everything that throughout its history is part of the life of a nation as a human conglomerate or of a state as a juridical and political entity. This fostering requires the presence of a collective awareness in favor of all those values that revolve around the supreme concept of homeland.
Such an important thing cannot be left at the mercy of private initiatives only, although experience shows that many noble and valuable things have been done from the private sector without the participation of government entities. However, this does not mean that it is not better, necessary, that everyone participates in the effort to upkeep the image of a country with all its manifestations with sustained efforts that go from books to monuments. The individuals who are more cultured and who have more influence than others in each community should coordinate efforts to strengthen what already exists and to create what does not exist, but that falls within the spirit of this continuity in the life of a people.
The proliferation of efforts in favor of this noble purpose could happen perhaps out of the vanity of some and of a national, historic, and cultural consciousness of others. However it might be, the important thing is that what already exists be continued using the resources of modern technology to delve into what is known and make it known to and put within reach of as more people as it be possible, not only in each individual country but also all over the world.
Unfortunately, nowadays many millions of dollars are spent on things that are not only trivial but also in very bad taste, when not on the exaltation of things that create customs that are incompatible with social dignity and morality, and with degrading projections. The opposite should be done to encourage what is noble and what strengthens the traditional values of each country and of civilization in general.
